Happy 1st March!
I thought a great way to start out this month was to list 10 things that make me happy. 10 of my favorite things. My 10 reasons to smile. 10 blessings in my everyday life. Things to keep me in that positive state of mind.1
. Family and friends. They always know how to make things better and easier to bare. They know how to make me smile and brighten my day. The best part about them is making them smile and see them happy and well. There's nothing that can top that!2
. Positivity and inspiration. Surrounding yourself with positivity is important to stay as positive as you can. People that can stay positive when surrounded by negativity - I admire your strength! I can say the same about surrounding yourself with things that inspire you.3
. Looking at where I am. How far I have come and my accomplishments. The strengths I have gained and the person I have become and am becoming. I am proud of that and I am proud of that person. 4
. Seeing others succeed. To see the way someone's face light up with the feeling of accomplishment. How can that not make you smile?5
. Guitar! The sound of a singing guitar and a good rhythm never fails to put me in a good mood! I can't exactly tell where it comes from, but that is also a part of why I love it so much. I grew up listening to many various guitar players since I was a baby, which made a big impact on me. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way. Listening to the guitars sing and squeak still gives me the chills to this day and I have my dad to thank for that!6
. Writing. Writing doesn't only make me happy, it also makes me feel open and free. I get to use my own words to create a picture, make someone smile, and laugh. I get to express myself in the purest and authentic way. I get help and inspire someone.7
. A good book. I mean those books you never get tired of. Those books you can read over and over again and still leave you surprised. Those books that get your emotions involved and connects you. Those books are a rare find.8
. Ballads. I am not talking about the ones that get your eyes running like the Vegas fountains - those are good, but not in this case. I mean those good 80's ballads that makes you dance in a shirt and socks singing along using a hairbrush for a mic. Like Tom Cruise in Risky Business because that's how it's That's how it's done. 9
. Having a night in with a good movie, snacks, company, and conversation - instead of going out. Who doesn't love that?
10. School. That might sound a bit odd - even for me, but hear me out. I'm not particularly a very big fan of school and school work. Never have been. The education I'm aiming for, I believe, is something I need to help me become the person I want to be and not only the work field I want to enter. It also keeps my mind occupied when I don't have anything going. Every time I finish a task or a course I get one step closer to where I want to be. Just by knowing this "little" thing makes me smile and that school won't last forever, it's a step I need to take. Did any of that make sense, haha?
What is one thing that makes you smile?
